Community guidelines
DiceCritic is a place to keep track of the games you love and help other people find theirs. These guidelines keep it friendly and useful for everyone. They sit alongside our Terms, and moderators use them when they review reports.
Be kind to people
- Criticize games, not people. “The rulebook is a mess” is fair. Insulting the designer, a reviewer or another member isn't.
- No harassment, bullying, threats or hate, including about anyone's race, ethnicity, religion, gender, sexual orientation, disability or age.
- Disagree with someone's review in your own review or a respectful comment, not by piling on.
Keep reviews honest
- Review games you've actually played, or say clearly when you haven't (“first impressions from the rulebook”).
- Don't rate or review a game to push its score up or down, alone or as a group. That includes asking friends or followers to.
- If you made the game, work for its publisher, or got it free to review, say so in your review.
- One account per person. No fake accounts to boost a game or yourself.
Mark spoilers
- For legacy, campaign and story games, tick Contains spoilers on your review, or keep surprises vague.
- Don't put spoilers in comments on other people's posts.
Respect other people's privacy
- Only tag friends who actually played, and only add guests' names they'd be happy to see. First names or nicknames are fine.
- Don't share anyone's private information: addresses, phone numbers, emails or photos of them without permission.
Keep it clean
- No sexually explicit or graphic content in reviews, comments, profile pictures or bios.
- No spam, advertising, referral links or self-promotion in reviews and comments. Creators and publishers are welcome; share your work on your profile, not in other people's threads.
- Only post words and images you have the right to share.
Help the catalog stay accurate
- Suggest edits that are true and checkable, like player counts, play time, designers and release dates.
- Don't add fake games or vandalize game pages.
What happens if something breaks the rules
- Anyone can tap Report on a review, comment or profile. Reports are confidential.
- Moderators remove content that breaks these guidelines. For repeated or serious problems, we may limit or suspend the account.
- You can block anyone from their profile. Blocking stops them from following, tagging or commenting on you.
